This software owes its name to Philip K. Dick's novel Do Androids Dreamof Electric Sheep. It realizes the collective dream of sleepingcomputers from all over the internet. When the screen-saver is activated, the screen goes black and ananimated 'sheep' appears. Behind the scenes, the screen-saver contacts aserver and joins the parallel computation of new sheep. Every fifteenminutes 24/7 a new sheep is born and distributed to all clients fordisplay. Each sheep is an animated fractal flame. This program is recommended only if you have a high-bandwidth, always-onconnection to the internet such as DSL or cable modem. For best results, let it run overnight to collect a whole flock. Laptop users might haveto adjust their power settings to accomplish this.
