So there's this kinda nice application called Baby Time that my son (nowalmost 6) loved when he was little, like two or three years old. It tookover the full screen and when he hit a key it would put a colorful shapeon the screen and play a sound. Unfortunately, it doesn't run well underClassic. He's since graduated to bigger things (like dinosaurs and Star Wars),but when my daughter just turned 2 and I'd like something like Baby Timefor her. Well, being that I'm an engineer at Apple, I went ahead andwrote a simple Cocoa application to do something similar for her. And, being an engineer (employed by Apple or not), I couldn't leave wellenough alone, so here's the new and improved version. It can play notonly various sounds, but also speak the names and colors of the shapes. You can choose between three different color schemes -- red, white, andblack for the littlest kids; the Apple system color scheme; or theCrayons color scheme. With version 1.2, you can choose which shapes youwant individually. Lastly, you can also set the volume from within theapplication. All of these settings are preserved in a preferences file.
