At times of high electricity demand, the power peak shift control on Toshiba's laptop PCs stops drawing electricity from the AC power supply and start to use the on-board battery.Users don't notice the difference. As the charged battery is used to deliver power, the PC can be used as easily and comfortably as normal. In this way "power peak shift" helps to avoid power use during the electricity peak and enables electricity to be consumed at a more even rate throughout the day.
